SHOPPING
A short drive will take you to the local Borders market towns, local arts, crafts, and with Edinburgh & Newcastle just over 1 hours drive away or a short train ride from Berwick station, there’s plenty of choice.
WALKING
Using Courtyard house as a base there are various walks available, for the more experienced walker the Cheviot hills, or the Border Pathways network for a less strenuous day out, with a variety of distances there’s something for everyone. www.northumberland-national-park.org.uk and www.southernuplandway.gov.uk
FISHING
A 10 minute drive will take you to the river tweed.

CHILDREN

A half hour drive will take you to the beach, Harestanes visitor centre or the Jedburgh Deer park. The public swimming pool at Berwick has a wave machine and flume.
HORSE RIDING & CYCLING
Most of the recently opened Kelso and surrounding area pathways are accessible for cyclists and horse riders. We have a cross country schooling course on the farm available for hire. If you would like to bring your horse on holiday, we can provide grazing.
LOCAL ATTRACTIONS & EVENTS
Many historical buildings including the Border Abbeys, Mary Queen of Scots House in Jedburgh and Floors Castle by Kelso.
Alnwick Castle with its spectacular water gardens and tree house is 40 minutes drive away.
There are sporting events, including the famous Melrose Rugby 7’ns tournament, Kelso Race course and Point to Point racing. As well as the annual local festivals held in all the Border towns, St. James Fair in Kelso, and the various events in Kelso’s Springwood Park. Also the Borders Festival Of The Horse.
